Former Charger And Titans Quarterback Billy Volek Doubts Derek Carr Plays 'The Next Few Weeks'
Raiders quarterback Derek Carr was scrambling towards the right sideline when we pulled up lame in front of the end zone. The broadcast suggested that Carr was ailing pre-snap, but former charger and Titans quarterback Billy Volek's thoughts on the injury were bleak. Raiders fans look away now.
Outkick's David J. Chao AKA ProFootballDoc asked Volek if he expects Derek Carr to play next week with a groin strain.
"No, but Marcus Mariota can do great things for the Raiders the next few weeks," Volek said over Periscope. "Marcus' scrambling ability can help this team for the next few weeks."
For Raiders fans, this is a complete disaster if Carr won't be on the field. That defense has been dismal, so Jon Gruden and the Raiders need all the help they can get. Having the fate of your season on the shoulders of Marcus Mariota won't end well. Best wishes to Derek Carr on his recovery.
