Floyd Little Dies at 78, Tributes Pour in for Hall of Fame Running Back

Floyd Little, the Hall of Fame running back who played for Syracuse University and the Denver Broncos, died Friday at the age of 78. He had been battling cancer for a year. Little played from the Broncos from 1967 through 1975, rushing for 6,233 yards and 43 touchdowns. He made four Pro Bowls and was a first-team All Pro in 1969.

"After nearly a year of confronting, even battling cancer, the beloved hero, brother, uncle, grandfather, father and husband, Pro Football Hall of Famer, Denver Bronco, and Syracuse #44 Legend, Floyd D. Little ran his last mile, gracefully bowed his head, and met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ," his family said in a statement.
