Eagles TE Ertz Remains On The Trade Block, Still Frustrated At Team For Lack Of Progress

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz's future is still in limbo. Two months ago, the veteran TE asked for and was granted permission to seek a trade.

Reports said that the Eagles were looking to get a third-round pick for the tight end, which was too high with Ertz's decline in both production and health the last few seasons.

In September, Ertz expressed his frustration with the Eagles during contract talks, and then in March he finally asked to be dealt.

A few teams did show interest: Bills, Chiefs and Chargers.

There was also reportedly an altercation between Ertz and GM Howie Roseman while Ertz and Philadelphia were in the midst of trying to work out a deal that never ended up taking place.

“We’re always going to try to do what’s best for the Philadelphia Eagles, and we balance that with our relationships with players that we care about," Roseman said.

"But that’s again like we started this conversation talking about our responsibility is to do what’s best for the team, and that’s what it’s about. So I think when you’re talking about this specific situation, that’s not really the consideration. We think Zach’s a good player, a good person and he’s under contract.”
