Dolphins Emerge As Frontrunners for Deshaun Watson
According to Yahoo Sports, the Miami Dolphins have emerged as the frontrunner in trade discussions with the Texans for Deshaun Watson.
Houston continues to ask for three first-round picks and two seconds in exchange for Watson. However, because 22 women have accused Watson of sexual misconduct, Yahoo says teams have angled for "pick protections" to mitigate a potential suspension or criminal prosecution. Thus, it's doubtful Miami would agree to Houston's asking price without some semblance of issuance.
Switching focus to the field, Miami is the ideal landing spot for Watson. The Dolphins are a QB away from competing for a Super Bowl. They already have the coach, defense, culture, and direction in place.

As for the Dolphins, Miami's interest in Watson suggests the team's concerns with second-year QB Tua Tagovailoa are ongoing. Should the Texans acquire Watson, Tagovailoa's time as the Dolphins starting QB will end the moment Watson is eligible to play. And that's if Miami doesn't ship Tagovailoa out of town in a trade for Watson.
Deshaun Watson's trade rumors began before the end of last season after Watson said he lost faith in the Texan's front office.
