Dolphins Add Patriots Pass Rusher Adam Butler With Two-Year Deal Worth $9 Million

The Miami Dolphins are playing takeaway with one of their rivals in the AFC East, the New England Patriots. On Wednesday, the Fins came to terms with defensive tackle Adam Butler.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that Butler is signing a two-year deal with Miami that will pay him up to $9.5 million.

Butler hasn't had huge numbers, but he has been an asset on the Patriots' line, putting up four and six sacks in his past two seasons. Overall, he's been the team’s best pass-rusher.

He's also shown that he can stay healthy, as the undrafted rookie has missed just one game in two seasons.

Butler came to New England out of Vanderbilt in 2017. His biggest impact game came in the postseason against the Tennessee Titans, where he put up a sack and QB hit in the New England loss.

The move comes two days after New England stole nose tackle Davon Godchaux away from Miami and inked him to a two-year deal.

Miami inked Pats quarterback Jacoby Brissett and CB Justin Coleman, two other players they hope can help their roster and send a blow to the Pats at the same time.
