Dick Vermeil Rips Deshaun Watson, Says to Change His Diaper

TMZ caught up with former Rams and Eagles head coach Dick Vermeil and asked him about the ongoing situation in Houston. Star QB Deshaun Watson is upset with the Houston Texans organization because they didn't consult him on the GM and coaching hires as they promised they would. Vermeil, however, did not have a lot of sympathy for Watson. He said that the Texans should address the situation by "changing his diaper" and that Watson should shut up, stick to his role and become a better football player.

I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with Vermeil here. First, if Texans owner Cal McNair told Watson he would have input into the front office and coaching situation, then he should stick to his word. Second, this whole situation with Jack Easterby seizing control of the organization, ignoring the search committee and having his run of the place all seems bizarre.

The question now becomes whether Watson will start behaving like James Harden in the hopes of getting himself shipped out of Houston. Though Watson signed a new deal, the Texans will have little choice but to play ball with him if he becomes enough of a pest. Vermeil comes from a whole different generation of football. Star quarterbacks have much more leverage now than they did when he was coaching.
