Cowboys Defenders Love Playing Under Dan Quinn

Last fall, Jerry Jones' football team might as well have been called the "allas" Cowboys. Anyone who watched more than a quarter of Cowboys football could tell they had no "D." In an effort to find the missing consonant, the Cowboys tabbed Dan Quinn as their new defensive coordinator. Two weeks into training camp, he's already making a favorable impression.

"Dan is bringing the swagger back. That's what we need in this place: swagger, that pep in our step and that swagger with our movement," said defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, via WFAA. "So, I feel like Dan is doing a good job bringing that formula back."

Quinn brings plenty of experience to Dallas. He oversaw a Seattle defense that was amongst the league's best in 2013 and 2014, then brought Atlanta to the Super Bowl as head coach in 2016.

Defensive back Anthony Brown is a fan of Quinn's approach. "I would say he puts responsibility on you. He holds you accountable a lot. He's not taking no for an answer and he's not taking no half-assing and you just got to come to work everyday, be consistent, like I said, and he wants you to work," said Brown. "He wants you to put your heart in. He wants you to put it on film. So, that's what I love about him: very detailed, and that's what I like about him."

"I feel like Dan Quinn knows what he's doing," added defensive lineman Tarell Basham. "I feel like they brought in the right guys. I feel like we got some of the right guys already here. And I feel like the way that we're coming together collectively as a group, it's going to be hard to stop us. You see the energy and the excitement the team brings out here in practice. Imagine what it's going to be like on game day."

Right now, it's all love between Quinn and the Cowboys defenders. But a repeat performance of last year's defensive deficiencies will have Dallas fans referring to their new coordinator as "an" Quinn if the "D" goes missing again.
