Carole Baskin Disapproves of Fans in Stands; Tiger Predicts Chiefs Will Win Super Bowl

Carole Baskin is opposed to the Super Bowl being played during the coronavirus pandemic with fans in the stands, but her tiger has predicted the Kansas City Chiefs will defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Baskin, the CEO of Big Cat Rescue and star of the Netflix documentary series “Tiger King’’ told USA Today she feels that everyone should be doing their part to stay home.

“I just think it’s irresponsible for people to be gathering in large groups, even though I understand they’re saying this is a much smaller group than they’ve ever had,’’ Baskin said to USA Today, referring to the 22,000 fans the NFL said will be allowed to attend Super Bowl LV on Sunday. “But it doesn’t matter that it’s a smaller group. It’s way more people than should be exposed to each other for the purpose of watching a game."

The game is being held at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, about 12 miles from Baskin’s Big Cat Rescue animal sanctuary that closed to the public in March 2020 and has not yet reopened.

Baskin's animal rescue has held Big Game tiger predictions for the past three years. For her first prediction, Duchess the tiger predicted the Chiefs will win this year's Super Bowl.

Baskin said the risk of bringing any number of people to Tampa for the game isn't worth the chance of positive COVID-19 cases that could arise in the local community.

“What I have seen is every time there’s a big event, whether it be a protest or a political rally, after that thing happens there’s this huge uptick in the number of local people who positive for COVID-19," Baskin told USA Today.
