Buffalo Signs 1-Year Deal with Former Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky
The Buffalo Bills have signed former Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky to a one-year deal.
Trubisky spent the last four seasons playing for the Bears. He started in 50 games and appeared in 51 during his stint in Chicago.
As Trubisky hit the free agent market Wednesday, the Bears announced a one-year deal with former Bengals QB Andy Dalton. Chicago now has Dalton locked into a one-year arrangement and veteran signal-caller Nick Foles under contract for the 2021 season.
Trubisky is expected to serve as QB2 in Buffalo, as the Bills are led by Josh Allen.
In 2020, the 26-year-old former Tarheel started in nine games and completed 199-of-297 passes for 2,055 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Trubisky completed 67% of his passes, averaging 6.9 yards per pass attempt, and had a passer rating of 93.5, the Bills said in a release.
During his NFL career, Trubisky has completed 1,010-of-1,577 passes for 10,609 yards for 64 touchdowns and a 64% completion rate.
The 2018 Pro Bowler averages 6.73 yards per pass attempt, has a passer rating of 87.2, rushed for 1,057 yards and scored eight rushing touchdowns in his four NFL seasons.
Trubisky was drafted by the Bears in the 2017 NFL Draft with the second overall pick out of North Carolina.
