Buccaneers DE Ndamukong Suh Wants To Return To Tampa In 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end Ndamukong Suh actually had a quiet season helping Tampa win a Super Bowl, but that's a good thing. It may earn him a spot back on the team's roster in 2021.

Suh, who has had plenty of controversial moments in his NFL career playing with the Lions, Dolphins, Rams and now the Bucs, did a nice job, helping on one of the best defensive line in football, if not the best.

The 34-year-old who was the 2nd overall pick by Detroit in 2010, is set to hit the free agent market in a month, but he says he'd like to be back in South Florida in 2021.

"My goal is to come back and have an opportunity to go win another championship," the defensive lineman told SI's Albert Breer.

"Me and Tom (Brady) spoke the other day about that opportunity, as well as with (general manager) Jason Licht.

"I don't know if you saw our parade celebration on that podium, Coach (Bruce Arians) said I'm not going anywhere. And he's usually a man of his word. So, I look forward to the opportunity to continue to play, especially for Tampa."

Since inking a deal with the Bucs two years ago, Suh has been making plays consistently. He's started every game since signing with the Bucs, putting up six sacks in 2020, his most since the 2015 campaign.

Suh wants to be back with the champs in 2021, and GM Jason Licht would also like to see the lineman and Tampa agree to a deal to keep him around.

"I know that there's mutual respect for each other ... We'll have to see how it all shakes out, but he's definitely one that we want back," Licht said last week on the Pewter Report podcast.
