Broncos Trade Von Miller To Rams In Blockbuster

The Broncos have traded star edge rusher Von Miller to the Rams, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The 32-year-old was traded to Los Angeles for two second-day picks in the 2022 NFL Draft. The 7-1 Rams just got a ton more fearsome on their defense, a move indicating they are all in on winning a Super Bowl.

The trade brings the Miller era in Denver to an end. And what an era it was. Miller recorded 110.5 sacks with the Broncos from 2011-2021. He's the all-time leader in sacks and was the driving force of the Broncos' iconic 2015 defense. That defense carried Denver to a Super Bowl win over the Panthers that season.

Miller is currently sidelined with an ankle injury but wanted to play against Washington on Sunday. The team ultimately held him out of the game, creating suspicion that a trade was near. In the end it was, and Miller now finds a new home in Los Angeles.

Miller joins the league's No. 1 ranked team at getting to the quarterback, already led by defensive tackle Aaron Donald and linebacker Leonard Floyd. The duo now becomes a trio, perhaps now the most dangerous front seven in the league.

To finalize the deal, Denver will pay $9 million of Miller's $9.7 million salary, per Schefter.
