Britt Reid No Longer Employed By Chiefs After Team Lets Contract Expire

Britt Reid, the son of Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, is no longer with the team.

According to a tweet from Adam Schefter of ESPN, a source confirmed the Chiefs have let the contract run out for the assistant coach after he was placed on administrative leave following a three-vehicle accident prior to Super Bowl LV.

He did not travel to Tampa with the team.

The accident happened last week, and the result are two injured children, one of whom is in critical condition.

The unfortunate crash has led to an investigation into Reid to determine whether he was impaired at the time of the accident. He has already admitted to having two or three drinks and a prescription Adderall, according to an article from Adam Teicher at ESPN.

The 35-year-old assistant coach has been with the Chiefs since 2013. He started off as a defensive quality control coach and has slowly worked his way up to being the linebackers coach over the last two seasons.

It's unknown whether the move will be permanent, but the main concern should be the injured, especially the five-year-old girl who is in critical condition.
