Bills QB Josh Allen Won’t Blame OT Rules For Loss

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen doesn't blame the rules or the overtime coin toss for the Kansas City Chiefs' 42-36 victory over the Bills in the AFC playoff Divisional Round at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.

"The rules are what they are — I can't complain about that," the quarterback said after the loss. "'Cause if it was the other way around, we'd be celebrating too. So, it is what it is at this point."

Allen said only one team will be crowned the champion — leaving 31 other teams unhappy — and at the end of the day, the game came down to the Chiefs making one more play than the Bills.

"That's what it came down to, but I'm proud of our guys," he said. "How we fought, how we battled, how we came through and persevered over some things through the course of this game and the course of the season."

Bills wide receiver Gabriel Davis had one of the greatest performances of his career, despite the loss, but said it's hard to celebrate his record-setting performance when the team didn't win.

"At the end of the day, this is a team game and you want your team to keep going and keep playing to win," said Davis, who set an NFL record with four receiving TDs in a postseason game.

Allen said while the loss hurts now, it will challenge the young group to improve next season.

"You know obviously it hurts and you don't like feeling like this, especially back-to-back years at the same place," Allen said. "We gotta find a way to be better next year and to accomplish what we want to accomplish."
