Bears Coach Matt Nagy Has COVID, Status For Sunday Uncertain

Bears head coach Matt Nagy and four other players have tested positive for COVID-19. Nagy's status for Sunday's matchup with the 49ers remains up in the air. Special teams coordinator Chris Tabor will stand in until further notice.

It's worth noting the Nagy is vaccinated, which leaves the possibility for a Sunday return.

We know, it makes zero sense.

After the Bears got annihilated on the road 38-3 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, one would think they would need their head coach for a rebound. However, Chicago Bears Twitter claims the team may get better in his absence.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Bears are now facing enhanced protocols such as masking inside the facility. The Chicago Bears are a mess and COVID protocols are no help.
