Bears Bringing Back GM Ryan Pace And HC Matt Nagy For The 2021 Season
The Chicago Bears wrapped up 2020 with a mark of 8-8 and a 21-9 Wild Card game loss to the New Orleans Saints this past Sunday.
The season was very up and down for Chicago, but overall there was more good than bad, and the team now has some tough offseason decisions to make about their roster.
Two things that won't change, however, are head coach Matt Nagy and general manager Ryan Pace, both of whom will be back for 2021, according to chairman George McCaskey.
The 42-year-old Nagy is 71-60 in three seasons as the head coach of the Bears, while Pace has done a solid job rebuilding the roster.
The organization's biggest decision this offseason will be what to do with quarterback Mitch Trubisky, who is set to be a free agent after the team declined his fifth-year option.
"Everything is on the table right now," Pace said Wednesday in regard to the future of Trubisky.
If the team doesn't bring back Trubisky, who is a former first-round pick, the club will have a void to fill.
Another big decision that has to be made concerns 27-year-old wide out Allen Robinson, who came into his own in 2020, making 102 catches.
He's coming off a pair of 1,000 yard seasons, but he appears to want more of a long term deal, not a franchise tag.
There's no doubt that if he hits the free agent market, Robinson will be able to garner a lot of looks from teams around the league and land himself big contract.
