Anthony Lynn Contemplated Sitting 2021 Out Before Accepting Lions OC Gig

When Dantallica requests your services, you don’t debate the offer. You don’t talk numbers. And you sure as hell don’t turn down the job. Anthony Lynn knows the drill, telling the “Compas on the Beat” podcast: “…when Dan (Campbell) called, you know, that changed everything.”

Formerly head coach of the Chargers, Lynn was dismissed in January after Los Angeles finished the season 7-9. He had planned to sit out the 2021 season but couldn’t pass up the opportunity to join a Campbell-led team that plans to kick their opponents in the teeth before biting off their kneecaps.

 

“I was actually going to sit this year out, but when they called, I had to go because I wanted to be a part of that. I knew it’s going to be something special," Lynn told Fernando Ramirez. “I’ve been on the sideline since I was six years old. I have not had a break since I was six years old, literally, every single fall,” said Lynn. “I really had my mind made up that I was going to take a gap year, travel a little bit, go see some other teams, visit some of the coaches that I know, and see how they’re doing things. I had made my mind up to sit out this year, but then when Dan called, you know, that changed everything.”

Can you blame him? Who wouldn't want to be a part of a squad that is seeking to have an actual king of the jungle patrolling the sidelines? I'd Iike to see Aaron Rodgers try to tame that Lion.

Now the offensive coordinator, Lynn's first extended opportunity to install proper kneecap-biting technique kicks off July 31st with the start of training camp.
