49ers LB Fred Warner Prepping For 'Physical, Nasty' Group Of Cowboys

49ers fans needn't worry about their team overlooking first round playoff foe Dallas. The San Francisco defense has already taken note that leaving Big D with a win is a tall task.

"Well, uhh, what kind of challenge don't they present," 49ers linebacker Fred Warner responded when asked about the difficulties of lining up across from the Cowboys' offense.

Warner and the Niners will be forced to pick their poison when attempting to slow Dallas on Sunday since the Cowboys are littered with stars in both the pass and run games.

"It all starts with Dak (Prescott)," Warner said earlier this week. "He's a premier quarterback, makes all the throws, is a high-level competitor and always gives their team a chance to win in any situation. Then at running back, you have Zeke Elliott and Pollard in the backfield. Two very tough runners, dynamic players. Their skill guys at receiver are some of the best in the league, making plays and doing things with the ball in their hands."

Prescott threw for 37 touchdowns, Elliott and Pollard combined for 12 rushing touchdowns, and five Cowboys totaled at least 400 receiving yards.

But it's not just the skill players that have Warner on high alert.

"(Dallas') tight ends are great, O-line is a big, physical, nasty group."

Dallas finished the regular season with the league's top offense in both yards per game (407) and points per game (31.2). Should San Francisco's defense find a way to slow the Cowboys, the offense will need to find a way to keep pace in order to move onto round 2.

"We're going to need everyone to win against Dallas," Warner said.

The 49ers and Cowboys kickoff Sunday afternoon at 4:30 EST from AT&T Stadium in Dallas. FanDuel Sportsbook is siding with Dak and The 'Boys, listing the Cowboys as 3-point favorites.
