Wisconsin QB Jack Coan Announces He's Transferring To Notre Dame
One-time Wisconsin quarterback Jack Coan is taking his talents elsewhere. The quarterback says that he is transferring to the University of Notre Dame.
The quarterback put out a tweet on Monday evening, announcing his decision. He says he is “Extremely thankful for the opportunity. Let’s get to work! @NDFootball.”
Coan made 18 starts for the Badgers, and even broke records in 2019, hitting on a school-record 236 passes for 2,727 yards with 18 touchdowns and five picks.
He was a major reason why Wisconsin amassed a 10-4 record and was able to reach the Rose Bowl. The Badgers lost 28-27 to Oregon on New Year's Day 2020.
Two weeks ago, the school disclosed that Coan had entered the transfer portal, setting up the move for him to play elsewhere in 2021.
This past preseason, Coan hurt his foot and had to have surgery. He was on the sidelines in uniform but didn't participate in the final three games for the Badgers, who went 4-3 in seven games.
Overall, Wisconsin went 12-6 in the games Coan started, including 8-3 in Big Ten games.
Coan will get a chance to see his old friends and coaching staff on September 25th, 2021, when Wisconsin is slated to take on Notre Dame at Chicago's Soldier Field.
