Will Muschamp, South Carolina Get Must-Win Against Auburn

Saturday's game against the Auburn Tigers was a must-win for Will Muschamp and South Carolina. With a 1-2 record heading in, the Gamecocks couldn't afford to drop to 1-3 with games like LSU, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Georgia and Kentucky left on the schedule.

Well, Muschamp and company were able to get the job done, winning 30-22 against Gus Malzahn to put both team's record at 2-2.

The offense wasn't anything special. They finished with less than 300 yards of total output. But they didn't have to be. The defense was able to force Auburn quarterback Bo Nix into a three-interception day, and that was ultimately the difference.

Speaking of Nix, we brought up during the third quarter that there was a heated exchange between wide receiver Seth Williams and the former five-star quarterback out of Pinson, Ala. One has to wonder if things were able to calm down -- especially after Nix added another interception and Auburn lost following the exchange.

Following an offensive possession that ended due to a third-down incompletion from Nix intended for wide receiver Seth Williams, the two carried their frustrations to the sideline. Josh Vitale, an Auburn beat writer for the Montgomery Advertiser, caught the exchange and shared it to Twitter.

As you can see, new offensive coordinator Chad Morris had to act as a mediator and stayed with Nix to talk through what went wrong on the previous possession.

The honeymoon phase with Nix, Morris and Williams is officially over. The frustrations are mounting.
