Watch: LSU DB Major Burns Makes Impressive One-Handed INT At Practice

Former four-star safety Major Burns of Baton Rouge already has a year of SEC experience.

He was ranked the No. 13 safety in 2020, and he initially committed to the Georgia Bulldogs over his hometown team, LSU. Fortunately for the Tigers, it only took one season for Burns to realize that was a mistake, and he transferred home back in May.

Now he's back in familiar territory, and according to reports, he's doing some really good things in practice for that Tigers defense. Take this one-handed interception that he snagged on Monday for example:

The 6-foot-3, 178-pound safety's natural length really comes in handy on this type of play. And with JaCoby Stevens off to the NFL, LSU is looking for more depth in the back half of their defense.

True freshmen Sage Ryan and Derrick Davis Jr. are both expected to help provide a boost, but Burns, a redshirt freshman, is also in a position to carve out a first-year role in Baton Rouge. He played in six of Georgia's 10 games last year, so he's already got a slight leg up in experience.
