WATCH: Jerry Rice's Son Scores First Collegiate TD For Colorado

Jerry Rice is arguably the great wide receiver in the history of football. His son, Brenden, has now achieved something his father never did, though. He scored a touchdown for a FBS football program. Jerry played at Mississippi Valley State, a FCS program.

On Saturday, the younger Rice hauled in his first collegiate touchdown catch. The freshman wide receiver now plays for Colorado, and his score came from 34 yards out against Stanford. The pass was from quarterback Sam Noyer.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Rice was rated as a four-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class. He also checked in as the No. 336 overall prospect, the No. 57 wide receiver and No. 10 player from the state of Arizona.

Surprisingly enough, the 6-foot-3, 205-pound pass-catcher wears the No. 2. That was the same number as former Buffalo receiver Laviska Shenault, who was a second-round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars back in April.

As previously mentioned, this was his first touchdown catch of his college career, but his first reception came last week in Colorado's opening game against UCLA. It only went for five yards, so Saturday's catch was a lot more meaningful.

He's only 299 career catches and 49 touchdowns away from catching his dad's college totals. If he beats that, he'll only need 1,549 receptions and 197 touchdowns in his NFL career to catch pops.

Easy enough, right?
