Vols Linebacker Suspended After Allegedly Abusing Kitten

Somebody high up with the Tennessee football program must have walked under a ladder. Or maybe broke a mirror. Look, I don't know what it is, but somebody in Knoxville did something they weren't supposed to.

The Vols are dealing with a string of poor luck, which continued on Monday.

Junior linebacker Aaron Beasley has been suspended indefinitely after allegations surfaced of animal abuse towards a 6-month-old kitten. According to Chris Low with ESPN, the Knoxville Police Department are investigating the case.

Folks, the details of this story aren't great. In fact, they're quite disturbing.

A UT student alleges that she came home to find her young kitten injured, unable to walk and in severe pain whenever touched. She believes her roommate's boyfriend, Beasley, is the culprit behind the kitten's sudden and extreme injuries.

More details on the incident can be found over at ESPN, but it also involves a second roommate hearing Beasley's girlfriend say, "You can't do that" before starting to cry. The entire incident allegedly stemmed from the kitten getting into Beasley and his girlfriend's food.

No charges have been made -- at least not yet. That could change in the near future though.

Now Rocky Top is attempting to work its way back from a rocky 2020 that ended with the firing of head coach Jeremy Pruitt. The on-field product was poor, and according to the university, things off the field weren't any better.

Now it's Josh Heupel's program. He's trying to clean things up, but it's going to be a challenge. With a slew of transfers, the depth was already thin, especially at linebacker.

Henry To'o To'o, Quavaris Couch, Deandre Johnson, J.J. Peterson and Kivon Bennett are all gone at that position. Then Aaron Willis, the team's highest signee in the 2021 class, was suspended after a drug arrest in early March, as was linebacker Martavius French.

Now Beasley has been added to that list.
