Update: Mississippi State's Mike Leach Rushed To Hospital After Sunday Heart Attack
Updated Monday 11:30 am EST: Mississippi State coach Mike Leach was taken to a local hospital in the Starkville area Sunday after suffering a heart attack at his home. Leach was taken by ambulance to the hospital. According to one report , once there, he had to await transport to Jackson by airlift.
Per the Clarion Ledger, Leach collapsed at his home in Starkville, but did not receive medical attention for between 10 to 15 minutes. EMTs used a defibrillator machine and delivered multiple shocks to restore normal heart rhythm.
Mike Leach was on the sidelines Saturday for the Bulldogs opening practice for the upcoming Reliaquest Bowl. Mississippi State is scheduled to face Illinois on January 2nd at Raymond James Stadium. There is currently not a timetable for the return of Leach, according to Mississippi State officials.
Mississippi State Director of Public Affairs Sid Salter had this to say on Twitter regarding Mike Leach.
"The university will make no other comments at this time other than to say that the thoughts and prayers of the university are with Mike and (his wife) Sharon and their family," Salter wrote.

The university released a statement on Sunday afternoon in regards to the situation and the plans for the Mississippi State football program.
Additional update: Within the last 20 minutes, Mississippi State football released a statement confirming that coach Leach is in critical condition. The team has they will provide updates to Leach's condition via social media when available.
