Trevor Lawrence-Travis Etienne Make Up One of College Football's Top QB-RB Duos

How often does a football program have the school's best quarterback and running back on the same roster at the same time? It is not often, I can assure you.

Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne share the same backfield for Clemson. Yes, there is still debate on G.O.A.T. status for both players, but both are at least involved in the conversation. That makes it a special duo.

Etienne is the now ACC's all-time leading rusher, surpassing former NC State running back Ted Brown (1975-78). In his four-year career, Etienne has gained 4,796 yards. He's also added 76 career scores (68 rushing, 8 receiving) and 1,079 receiving yards.

And guys, he's still not done.

The debate with this duo comes down to Lawrence. Not because the former five-star hasn't lived up to potential -- he beat Alabama in the national championship as a true freshman, for goodness sake. It's because of former national champion and Heisman Trophy winner Deshaun Watson.

It's hard to stack up against Watson's video game numbers, but Lawrence has still been amazing. He's thrown for 9,376 yards, 86 touchdowns and only 15 interceptions while completing 66.4 percent of his passes.

Lawrence is also considered a generational talent at the quarterback position, despite that being an overused description at times.

The point? What we have seen over the last three seasons between Lawrence and Etienne is nothing short of spectacular. It's a huge reason why a writer for Clemson Sports Talk recently wrote a piece to say thank you -- and their careers aren't even over yet.

There have been some fantastic quarterback-running back duos this season. The argument could certainly be made for Alabama's Mac Jones-Najee Harris being the best. But this Lawrence-Etienne combo has done it for a lot longer.
