Texas Paying Vince Young Six-Figures, Gives Few Details About His Job
Former Longhorns quarterback Vince Young is getting paid $100,000 annually to be an assistant. The contract doesn't give any details as to what he'll be assisting, so it sounds like he's Netflix's Lucifer of college football.
One thing Texas knows about Vince Young is that he'll be worshipped by the fan base, just like Reggie Bush at USC. Fans always have a soft spot for dominant college players.
The only detail in the deal says that Young will report to athletic director Chris Del Conte, so we'll have to wait and see how this plays out. Regardless, Vince will likely face no backlash if Texas stinks, which is probably part of the reason Young didn't want a job title in the first place.
So while we're driving through an hour of traffic for our 9-5 gigs, Vince will be popping in and out of the facility as he pleases for a smooth 100K. Maybe it does pay to be a college football player?
