Texas LB Jake Ehlinger Found Dead Off-Campus

University of Texas linebacker Jake Ehlinger, younger brother of former Longhorns quarterback Sam Ehlinger, was found dead Thursday.

Austin police officials said they received a call Thursday afternoon and found Jake Ehlinger dead near campus, Yahoo Sports reports.

No additional information was released and officials did not specify how they found him. Yahoo Sports reports police said his death is not considered suspicious.

Jake Ehlinger is a second-year linebacker and has been with the Longhorns since 2019. He hasn't seen any game action but has been a two-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Sam Ehlinger was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday and when NFL Network's broadcast showed a photo of Jake’s face in place of Sam's, the rookie QB loved it.

“Good, good,” Sam said with a huge grin during his availability with reporters, per Yahoo Sports. “Jake deserves all the screen time you can get.”
