Ohio State CB Shaun Wade Declares For The 2021 NFL Draft

Ohio State Buckeye cornerback Shaun Wade is taking the next step in his football career. The corner has now declared for the 2021 NFL Draft in late April.

Many are not surprised by Wade's decision to go pro after three seasons, as he came back to Ohio State for his redshirt junior year looking to become a better player and increase his stock for the 2021 draft.

As a redshirt freshman in 2018, Wade played in all 14 games and pulled in a team high three picks for the Buckeyes.

The corner became a starter in the 2019 season for Ohio State, and earned third-team All-Big Ten honors playing at the slot corner position.

He moved outside in 2020 and got even better, earning first-team All-American by the Associated Press.

While cornerback is always a position of need in the draft, most current NFL mock drafts see Wade being drafted somewhere in the second round, this after going in the first round prior to the start of the season.

He struggled (as did most Buckeyes) in Monday's national title game loss to Alabama. He gave up a number of plays to Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith in the eventual defeat.
