No. 8 Michigan State Rallies To Defeat No. 6 Michigan

The No. 8 Michigan State Spartans beat No. 6 Michigan Wolverines 37-33 on Saturday with the help of Spartans running back Kenneth Walker III.

The junior RB was responsible for five touchdowns in the win, marking his second game this season with four or more rushing scores. ESPN reports Walker leads all running backs in the FBS and is only the third Michigan State player to score five rushing touchdowns in one game.

After trailing Michigan 23-14 at the half, Michigan State put together an impressive second-half performance. The Wolverines had a 30-14 lead at one point in the third quarter but Michigan didn't have a response to Walker's three second-half rushing touchdowns.

With the loss, the Wolverines are now 89-2 in games where they led by 16 or more points at any time in the second half since 2004, ESPN reports.

Michigan State quarterback Payton Thorne completed 19-of-30 passes for 196 yards with two interceptions in the win, while Michigan quarterback Cade McNamara completed 28-of-44 passes for 383 yards and one interception in the loss. McNamara was able to account for two touchdowns through the air, as well.

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is now 3-4 against Michigan State and the Wolverines are 7-1 on the season with Saturday's loss. The team will next face Indiana.

The Spartans are 8-0 for the first time since 2015 when they made the College Football Playoff and next face Purdue on the road on Nov. 6.
