Miami QB D'Eriq King Signs NIL Agreement With NHL's Florida Panthers

D'Eriq King has signed with a professional sports team. And no, I'm not talking about the NFL. King is still the starting quarterback for the University of Miami Hurricanes, but that doesn't mean he can't get a paycheck from the Florida Panthers of the NHL.

On Monday, King became the first collegiate athlete to come to an agreement with a major professional sports teams in the United States. That means that the former Houston transfer will once again be able to make money off his name, image and likeness.

“We are thrilled to welcome D’Eriq to Panthers Territory as our first ‘FLA Athlete,’” said Sam Doerr, the team’s chief strategy officer, via Forbes. “D'Eriq is a superstar both on and off the field and we are excited to reach and engage South Florida sports fans in new ways through this collaborative partnership.”

King will make appearances at Panthers games, have a concession item exclusive to him and help design a merchandise collection. In other words, he'll be plenty busy earning every bit of that paycheck.
