Mark Stoops Says 'I Absolutely Plan On Being Here' Regarding Future At Kentucky

After Kentucky destroyed Louisville Saturday night, he made an appearance on Kentucky Sports Radio for a postgame conversation. During this conversation, Stoops made it clear that he plans on being the the head coach at Kentucky, amid the rumors that he could potentially take another job.

The coaching carousel has been wild this season, with major openings around the country. As Stoops continued to win games, his name was brought up by Bruce Feldman in regards to the LSU opening. As we wrote about last week, it was first reported by KSR that Stoops was contacted by a "third party" in regards to the job in Baton Rouge.

But, on Saturday night, it seems as if Stoops has finally put all of the chatter to bed. He made it clear to KSR that he has no plans of moving on from Lexington, after being asked if fans should assume they will see him at Kentucky moving forward.

“Absolutely, Absolutely," Stoops said.

"I really appreciate you and how you get the fans fired up. I love the Big Blue Nation and I absolutely plan on being here. Let's put it this way. I’m going to work tomorrow,” Stoops said. “I’m on my way home, my butt’s gonna get in bed, I’m going to be at my office tomorrow, and I’m going to hit the pavement this week to go get us some players.”

This past Wednesday, Feldman said the following about Mark Stoops and LSU.

"Stoops’ name has gotten hotter inside LSU in the past week or so, and sources say the Tigers have legitimate interest because they see him as a proven a program-builder."

I think it's safe to say that Stoops has taken his name out of any potential coaching vacancy for this year's silly season.
