Mark Richt Announces Parkinson’s Diagnosis

Former Georgia and Miami head football coach Mark Richt revealed some unfortunate news about his health on Thursday night. The coach-turned-analyst on the ACC Network has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, which he announced in a statement he shared on social media:

“I have been waddling around lately and people have asked me what’s wrong,” Richt's statement reads. "I’ve decided to tell everyone at the same time. I have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Truthfully I look at it as a momentary light affliction compared to the future glory in heaven. Thank you Jesus for promising us a future blessing of a glorified body that has no sin and no disease. In the meantime I am going to enjoy the blessings that I do have. See you on the ACC Network!”

Ask anyone, and they'll tell you Mark Richt is one of the best human beings in football. He was once a good football coach, but that's not what I'm talking about. He's a fantastic person who is beloved by many, even those who aren't a fan of the Bulldogs or Hurricanes.

The good news is that this diagnosis doesn't appear to be sidelining the legendary coach, as he did say in his statement that he'd see us on the ACC Network.
