Looking At Georgia's 2022 Recruiting Class After Adding 4-Star RB Jordan James

The Georgia Bulldogs are off to a hot start with their 2022 recruiting class. After finishing the 2021 cycle with the No. 4 class, they are now sitting at No. 2 with the current group -- trailing only Ohio State.

Georgia got another boost on Monday with the commitment of four-star running back Jordan James. The Murfreesboro, Tenn. native is rated as the nation's No. 179 overall prospect and No. 17 running back, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.






So what else are the Bulldogs working with in 2022? Well, the class currently includes 11 total commitments, three of which are five-stars and the other eight four-stars. Seven of them are rated amongst the top 100 prospects in the country.

Considering it's only March, that's a strong start for Kirby Smart and company. Here are the seven top 100 guys:





The two listed as ATH ("athlete") will probably end up on opposite sides of the football. Bouie should eventually be a pass-catching option for Stockton while Starks is projected as a box safety/off-ball linebacker hybrid.

If that happens, five of those seven will fall on the defensive side of the football. It's Kirby Smart, so that makes sense.

There hasn't been a lot of movement made yet along the offensive line, but that shouldn't be surprising. Over the last two classes, the coaching staff has done a great job recruiting the hogs up front. In those groups, there's been:






That type of recruiting will allow Georgia to be more selective with the offensive linemen brought in for 2022. Fans should probably expect continued quality there without the quantity. Either way, they're going to be fine.

Despite the loss of George Pickens to a torn ACL, the Bulldogs are a national title favorite this season. At some point, Smart needs to get over the top and start turning these top classes into championships, but it's good to see that the train isn't slowing down on that front.

This will be a fun group to watch in 2022 and beyond.
