Lane Kiffin Continues To Campaign For ManningCast of Ole Miss-UT Game

Like a suspicious wife with her hands on a call log and a GPS, Lane Kiffin isn't going away until he gets some answers. The Ole Miss coach, who last week pushed the idea for ESPN to bring a "ManningCast" of the October Ole Miss - Tennessee game to viewers, revisited the idea following last night's Lions-Packers tilt.

After tweeting at the ESPN College Football account last week, Kiffin turned his attention to ESPN's public relations account, which had tweeted a picture of Peyton Manning stationed within an apparent man cave during the ManningCast broadcast. "Now do this for @OleMissFB vs @Vol_Football," said Kiffin's tweet.

The head coach's request isn't that far-fetched. Peyton Manning is arguably the greatest player ever to wear Tennessee orange, and brother Eli was drafted first overall after starring for Ole Miss. The Rebels are currently 3-0 and firmly within the national spotlight, thanks to the Heisman buzz surrounding quarterback Matt Corral and the presence of media-magnet Kiffin. Tennessee's 2-1 after three weeks and new head coach Josh Heupel has the Volunteers generating interest outside of Knoxville for the first time in years, thanks to an offense that has put up nearly 43 points per game.

A normal Rebels-Volunteers telecast would draw plenty of eyeballs, but throw the Manning brothers into the mix, and the conference clash instantly becomes must-see-tv for even the most casual fans of college ball. As Peyton's shown, he has no qualms about airing the NFL's dirty laundry. Just imagine the SEC stories the Manning brothers could dust off during a Saturday evening ManningCast.

Despite the perceived interest from across the sports world, neither ESPN nor the Mannings have responded to Kiffin's request, at least not publicly.
