Kurt Warner, Ed McCaffery Sons Both Transferring From Nebraska

Nebraska is losing a couple of big last names to the transfer portal. On Tuesday, it was announced that the sons of Kurt Warner and Ed McCaffrey would be looking to finish their college careers elsewhere.

Surprisingly enough, their sons' roles were reversed as far as positions. While Warner is a Super Bowl-winning quarterback from his time with the Los Angeles Rams, Kade Warner played wide receiver for the Cornhuskers. Luke McCaffrey, on the other hand, played quarterback, while his father was an excellent receiver for the Denver Broncos.

From a production standpoint, McCaffrey is the bigger loss. He started in place of starter Adrian Martinez on two separate occasions this past season. In eight games, he totaled 830 yards (466 passing, 364 rushing) and four touchdowns.

The problem? Only one of those touchdowns came through the air, and he tossed six interceptions.

Warner is a former walk-on who has been slowly phased out of Nebraska's offense. Of his 30 career catches, 25 of them came during his first two seasons. In 2020, he brought in only five for a total of 40 yards. That decline in usage and production has led to his departure.

It will be interesting to see where these two end up. If they want to end up with careers similar to fathers, they probably need to start making moves. Are any grocery stores hiring?
