Kirk Herbstreit Tests Positive for COVID, Will Call Clemson-Ohio State Remotely

Kirk Herbstreit announced on Tuesday night that he has tested positive for COVID-19. That means the ESPN analyst will have to be in quarantine for the College Football Playoff this weekend.

Fortunately, he will still be able to participate in the festivities. He also announced via Twitter that he will call the Clemson-Ohio State game from his home on Friday.

Herbstreit will also take a similar route as Lee Corso for College GameDay. Corso has been doing the show remotely, and it looks like Herbstreit will do the same.

"Earlier this week I tested positive for Covid," Herbstreit tweeted. "Thankfully I feel good and my family is okay, but going through protocols that will keep me home. I will be working from home, Jan. 1 on College GameDay (9AM-12PM), and later that day, on the call for the Sugar Bowl with Chris, Maria and Tom. Can't wait for the rematch between Clemson and Ohio State."

Things might feel a little different with Herbstreit working remotely, but in 2020, we have gotten used to things being different. This will be no different.
