Kellen Moore Turning Down Boise State, Staying With Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is turning down the chance to be the head coach at his alma mater, Boise State, to remain with the Dallas Cowboys, according to Chris Mortensen and Ed Werder:




This qualifies as relatively surprising news, given that Moore as a competitive person surely must want to be a head coach one day, and there's always an appeal to going home. However, if Jerry Jones really wanted to keep him, then there are some financial considerations here where you could see the Cowboys making a big bid to prevent Moore from leaving.

Where Boise State goes from here is an interesting question. Here's a thought: What about Chris Petersen, who succeeded at Boise State for seven years before leaving for Washington, where he ultimately left after last season, citing anxiety?
