Justin Fields Spotted At UGA Scrimmage
Justin Fields has been completely snake bit during his collegiate decision making process and we hate that for him. The good news is that no matter what happens with the (God awful) Big Ten decision makers this season, he is an early first round pick.
He may be kicking himself, too!
Today he was spotted at the Georgia scrimmage. Immediately the transfer speculation was fired up but Fields is from Kennesaw (GA) and with Ohio State being closed for business, he was simply showing up to check in on old teammates.
He has already said that he was staying with Ohio State, no matter what.
“For me, it’s just for the love of the game and my love for Ohio State, my coaches and my teammates,” Fields said on Good Morning America on Aug. 19. “There’s a lot of people on our team that feel safer in the facility. Just having us play football within the facility daily will keep us safe from the virus.”
Fields was the No. 2 overall prospect in the 2018 class according to 247Sports and chose to sign with Georgia coming out of high school. He appeared in 12 of 13 games as a freshman for the Bulldogs behind Jake Fromm, acting mostly as a gimmick player, but also burning a redshirt. During that season he completed 27-of-39 pass attempts for 328 yards and four touchdowns. He also toted the ball 42 times for 266 yards and four scores.
After failing to beat our Fromm, he entered the NCAA transfer portal and transferred to Ohio State. He won the starting job and was a Heisman finalist.
In our first NFL Mock Draft, Fields went No. 2 to the Redskins.
