Jim Harbaugh Attends Michigan Protest, Says They Could Play in Two Weeks

Michigan fans held a protest in Ann Arbor in favor of resuming football season today. Jim Harbaugh participated in it, and said that the Wolverines could be ready in two weeks once the call is made:

 

This comes after Harbaugh reportedly told players to be ready to play in October, and Harbaugh's brother John said to free the Big Ten.

Behind the scenes, reporting has emerged that Michigan president Dr. Mark Schlissel has been a major bottleneck in the Big Ten's resumption to play. Steve Dance of Sports Illustrated's Wolverine Digest reported on Friday that Dr. Schlissel is "one of the biggest remaining obstacles to the return of Big Ten football this Fall."

Michigan, by the way, has students on campus this Fall, and Dr. Schlissel commended them for following safety protocols in a tweet today:

With Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer surprisingly reversing course and allowing high school football in the state this Fall, perhaps it's reasonable to hope Dr. Schlissel does the same soon.
