Indiana QB Michael Penix Jr. Tweets Recovery Photo
Michael Penix Jr. is on the road to recovery. In fact, the Indiana quarterback tweeted out a photo on Wednesday evening with the caption "Road to Glory" as he recovers from ACL surgery.
The picture showed Penix Jr. in a wheelchair. It might shock some to see him with both knees bandaged up, but that was all part of the plan. The surgeons who repaired the ACL in the injured knee took the MCL from the healthy one to do it.
The result? Well, the photo posted looked a little worse than it actually was.
Penix Jr. was a good quarterback in 2019, but we saw something different in 2020. His play was at a whole new level until his injury against Maryland on Nov. 28.
The sophomore was only completing 56.4 percent of his passes, but he had a 14-to-4 touchdown-to-interception ratio with 1,645 passing yards. He had also had a few eye-popping plays, including this game-winning two-point conversion against Penn State.
Despite a close loss to No. 4 Ohio State, the Hoosiers have had a good season at 6-1. That success was started with the play of Penix Jr.
College football will be getting a good one back in 2021.
