Georgia-Tennessee TV Ratings Were Massive
Georgia was a double-digit favorite heading into its game against Tennessee this past Saturday, but that didn't stop viewership from skyrocketing.
According to a tweet from CBS Sports PR, the Bulldogs taking on the Vols was the most watched college football game so far this season, regardless of network. It drew in a whopping 5.776 million viewers and had a peak of 7.274 million during the 6:00-6:15 p.m. ET window.
The late game between Alabama and Ole Miss ranked second on the weekend, drawing 4.893 million viewers, according to ShowDailyBuzz.com. Texas-Oklahoma and Miami-Clemson also drew 4-plus million viewers as well.
Overall, it was a great weekend for college football.
Schools have to be thrilled with the decision to push forward despite the COVID-19 pandemic. College games have been postponed and some have even been canceled, but conferences have been able to make things work for the most part.
