Georgia Southern Player Chugs Beer On Top Of Bus Before Louisiana Game

Aspiring country music artist and Georgia Southern nose tackle Gavin Adcock is reportedly the Eagles player who chugged a beer on top of a school bus carrying players to Saturday's home game against Louisiana. Adcock, playing in his fifth year at Georgia Southern, spends his off days covering Hank Williams Jr. songs in Statesboro, Georgia bars and building his brand.

It's not clear if Saturday's stunt cost head coach Chad Lunsford, famous for his WWE locker room stunts, his job, but the school fired Lunsford after his team lost 28-20 to Louisiana. With Coastal Carolina and Louisiana taking control of the Sun Belt Conference, insiders say the school is looking to "gain a clearer identity" with a new coach.

While a single beer chug didn't turn this guy into a completely wasted college football player, Adcock did have an offsides penalty on 4th and 1 from the GS 17 that helped lead to Louisiana's second touchdown. I'm not a college football expert, but it's probably not great to have a nose tackle chugging a beer on top of a bus on the way to the game and then having a key offsides penalty on 4th down that leads to a touchdown.

Just sayin'.

Coach Chad Lunsford was the fun coach who fired up a party school in 2018 by going to frats and slamming chairs. His team finished the 2018 season at 10-3 and he looked to be on track to dominate the conference. Then came a 7-6 season followed by 8-5 in 2020. But, as is typically the case with coaches who try to be too player-friendly, the party had to come to an end.
