Former Tennessee RB Eric Gray Impressing Early At Oklahoma

Tennessee has dealt with the loss of several key players this offseason. Following the firing of former head coach Jeremy Pruitt, it was inevitable that some players would explore the transfer portal.

One such player was running back Eric Gray, who left for Oklahoma. In two seasons as a Vol, the former four-star runner produced 1,680 yards and 11 scores on only 301 touches. He was an important piece of the offense, but now his talents are in Norman.

The buzz around Gray and his potential impact on the Sooners' offense has been growing. And during the annual spring game on Saturday, he showed why. The 5-foot-10, 206-pound junior took a second quarter carry 19 yards to the end zone.

It was a well-blocked play, but Gray showed his ability to make defenders miss. It's what made him valuable at Tennessee, and it will do the same for him at Oklahoma. Lincoln Riley will certainly put Gray's ability as a runner and receiver to good use.

Unfortunately, that will come at the expense of Tennessee, who is still trying to find a long-term option at the position.
