Does McKenzie Milton Want Oregon Transfer LB Isaac Slade-Matautia To Join Him At Florida State?
Oregon lost a linebacker to the transfer portal over the weekend. Isaac Slade-Matautia, a former four-star prospect out of Hawaii, is moving on after several seasons with the team. The news came as a surprise considering Slade-Matautia was expected to be a starter, but such surprises could be the new norm with the addition of the one-time transfer rule.
Oh well. The Ducks may be out a linebacker, but their loss is someone else's gain. And from the looks of it, new Florida State quarterback McKenzie Milton, who's familiar with the transfer portal himself after his departure from UCF, wants Slade-Matautia to join him in Tallahassee.

Granted, Milton didn't exactly say those words, but his reaction to the news makes it seem like he wouldn't mind a fellow Hawaii native becoming a fellow Seminoles on the opposite side of the country.
Sounds like a guy who understands that defense still plays a part in winning championships.
Slade-Matautia joined Oregon back in 2017. He didn't see action during his first season, but he played in 28 games in the three years since. During that time, he's racked up 127 tackles (12 of which went for a loss), 2.5 sacks and 17 pass breakups.
Florida State defensive coordinator Adam Fuller could certainly use a player with that type of experience, regardless of the other depth already on the roster. But at this point, we don't know which way Slade-Matautia is leaning as far as his next -- and likely final -- destination.
