Clemson Commit Pours Gas On Rivalry With Ohio State

Clemson and Ohio State have developed a pretty good rivalry since the College Football Playoff kicked off in 2015, and it may have just become a little more intense.

It started when new Clemson commit Cade Klubnick quarterbacked his Austin Westlake High School team to a win over Ohio State commit Quinn Ewers and Southlake Carroll in the Texas 6A state championship game.

Klubnick announced he was choosing Clemson in a live video, streamed on social media.

“I’m announcing my commitment to Clemson University,” Klubnik said. “Go Tigers. I’m all in.”

Klubnick has already beaten a QB who Ohio State hopes will be a major part of its future. His choice of Clemson will only make the growing rivalry more intense.

Clemson and Ohio State have met three times in the CFP, including the previous two seasons. Clemson owns a 2-1 edge, but Ohio State won last season's semifinal to advance to the national championship game, where it lost to Alabama.
