Boise State Needs To Hire Kellen Moore Immediately To Fill Its Vacancy
Now that the Auburn Tigers have hired Bryan Hardin, Boise State needs a head coach. If the Broncos want to return to glory, they need to hire former Boise State star Kellen Moore to be their next head coach.
A huge part of leadership is being embraced not just by the players, but by the fanbase. And Boise State fans would be all aboard the Kellen Moore train.
Football wise, he's ready for the task. Just check his resume. Moore is currently serving as offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys, who were expected to have a top offense before quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending injury.
Even without Dak, Kellen Moore managed to keep the Cowboys' offensive afloat. Dallas was 15th in total yardage. They may have struggled to put the ball in the end zone, but what team wouldn't with Andy Dalton behind center? Kellen Moore played a colossal role in putting the Cowboys in position to score--it's just that his players stink right now.
Boise State should be most enticed by Moore's creativity. He's not Andy Reid, but the ability to confuse a defense with creativity is even more impactful in the college game.
How realistic is this signing?
Contractually speaking, Kellen Moore is realistic. Moore stands to make roughly $1 million this year with Dallas, and Boise State was paying Bryan Hardin just under $2 million. If they want Kellen Moore, they know they'll have to make that same type of investment they gave their former coach.
Hiring Kellen Moore would be a sexy pickup for Boise State. Twitter would also love it. Sometimes the signing that makes everyone smile is also the right way to go.
Hire Kellen Moore.
