AP Top 25: Georgia and Cincinnati Still Hold Lead, No. 5 Oregon Closes In
Oregon (8-1) moved up to No. 5 in Week 11's AP Top 25 Poll after the previously ranked No. 7 Ducks beat Washington 26-16 on Saturday. The Ducks jumped Ohio State at No. 6 and took advantage of Michigan State’s first loss of the season.
Previously ranked No. 5 Michigan State (8-1) fell to Purdue and landed the No. 8 spot on Sunday's poll.
Georgia (9-0) marked the fifth straight week the Bulldogs have kept the No. 1 spot in the AP Top 25 Poll after a dominant 43-6 win over Missouri on Saturday.
While the No. 2 Cincinnati Bearcats (9-0), No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide (8-1), and No. 4 Oklahoma Sooners (9-0) — which had a bye this week — all kept the same positions from Week 10’s rankings into Week 11.
No. 6 Ohio State (8-1) also kept its position this week after beating Nebraska 26-17 on the road.
The AP reports that the three teams to move into the Top 25 this week have all been there before.
No. 20 Wisconsin (6-3) is back after winning five consecutive and more than a month out of the rankings, No. 21 North Carolina State (7-2) returned to the Top 25 and No. 25 Pittsburgh (7-2) moved back in after a loss knocked the Panthers out for a week.
Teams that are out of the poll this week include the Kentucky Wildcats (6-3), which lost for the third straight week to fall out of the rankings after a five-week run in the Top 25, the AP reports.
The SMU Mustangs (7-2) experienced its second straight loss, costing the Mustangs their ranking after four weeks in the Top 25. Fresno State (7-3) also is out of the poll, again,
