Adam Schefter Weighs In On Justin Fields NFL Potential, Or Lack Thereof
During an interview on Schlereth and Evans podcast, Adam Schefter was asked about the NFL potential of Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields. His answer came as a surprise to some.
"My guess is he'll be a top 10 pick. But I don't think he'll be the second quarterback picked," Schefter said. "I think Zach Wilson will be the second quarterback picked, when all is said and done."
"I think Fields is going to go high because of his tremendous ability, but I don't think it can be as high as Trevor Lawrence, I don't think it can be as high as Zach Wilson in the end."
Here's Schefter introducing that same skepticism on air.
According to Todd McShay's NFL Draft rankings, Justin Fields is now the ninth ranked prospect, with two quarterbacks ahead of him.
None of these NFL insiders are wrong when they make the claim that Justin Fields' value has dropped. He's a big-time prospect with all the tools, but he lacks an eye-popping performance against a solid Big Ten defense.
Justin Fields will get the final say as the College Football Playoff nears. He has to show up if he wants that number two spot. Putting on a show against Clemson could change everything in a heart beat.
