Reporter Hilariously Asks NBA Sixth Man of the Year If He Goes To Many NBA Games
Hayley Crombleholme, a local Utah reporter, was interviewing Jazz fans off the street about the upcoming season, and suddenly she ran into reigning Sixth Man Of The Year Jordan Clarkson. The problem was that she had no clue she just ran into a Jazz player while asking him if he'd attended many games. Seriously.
I mean this with all due respect: in a sport like the NBA, where we get a good look at player's faces on a day-to-day basis, no reporter should be asked to cover a sport where they can't recognize key contributors.
Clarkson had a lighthearted response to the exchange:
Imagine running into a 6-foot-5 incredibly athletic man in downtown Utah and not raising an eyebrow? She previously retweeted the Utah Jazz's health and safety protocols, while she remained clueless as to what the players look like. And this doesn't mean Crombleholme can't eventually cover the Jazz down the road because that wouldn't be fair, however she's just not ready yet.
It seems that networks are now allowing reporters to cover events they have no clue about. Maybe throw out a diehard Jazz reporter to ask questions to the locals, that'll clearly be diehards themselves?
Sports coverage is getting worse by the day...
