Memphis Grizzlies Dancer Lainey Abone Is A Rib-Eating Machine, Wins Contest

Memphis Grizzlies dancer Lainey Abone is suddenly a huge deal in southwest Tennessee where she's now known for her eating prowess, thanks to a win at the Memphis In May World Championship BBQ Eating Contest where she defeated some big ol' boys who are used to crushing piles of ribs. As for Lainey, she wasn't even supposed to be in the eating contest. She was just at the festival to work the Grizzlies dancer tent, but when approached by talent scouts from the rib eat-off, Lainey decided to go for it. According to the Memphis Commercial Appeal, each contestant had five minutes to eat as many ribs as possible. The five-foot-five dancer proceeded to crush two pounds, 18 ounces of ribs over five minutes to win a ribs trophy for her effort. "It was completely unexpected, but so cool. It will definitely go down as one of the most memorable experiences of my life," Abone told the newspaper
