KJ Martin's Positive COVID Test Turns Out To Be False

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Rockets' rookie forward KJ Martin's positive COVID test turned out to be a false positive. The Houston Rockets already sent John Wall and Demarcus Cousins home due to "contact tracing," and now it looks like they've lost them for nothing.

Imagine how many average Joes have left their doctor's office with a false positive? That may be a discussion for another day.

The only positive news to share about the Rockets now is that they play the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder. Losing two players out of the starting lineup is an obvious challenge, but it's much worse when they don't play due to botched science.

It would be nice if scientists and doctors could finally admit they don't know what's going on instead of pretending to have a grasp. Contact tracing? Who made this stuff up? If they're going to send multi-million dollar athletes home, the team better be sure these players are actually sick. In this case, they were just guessing, which is something that shouldn't happen nearly a year into the pandemic.

Like Steph Curry, an unhappy James Harden will lead a cast of nobodies on his opening night tonight, and it'll be a boring watch. It's amazing that tests we don't even understand can alter billion dollar franchises like this. Only a few people may care about who plays in these games right now, but losing two main attractions doesn't help those who tune in. Figure it out, NBA.
